Teaching aims:

1.如何使用地道的英语介绍自己喜欢的博物馆.。正确的使用所学的词组。

2No+n/Ving表示“禁止”的意思,情态动词can, must, 以及动词allow的被动语态be allowed to do都表示“允许/禁止做….”, 肯定,疑问与否定形式;

3. 能用恰当地道的英语向人们介绍自己喜欢的博物馆及其准则

Key vocabularyupstairs, project, exhibition, rule, tail, rope, kid, entry, missing, downstairs, punish

Important points: against the rule, in trouble, No entry, no wonder.

Key structure:

 1. No+n/Ving, you mustn’t/can’t……

 2, Listening skill: To know how to express the meaning of those signs in museum and understand the meaning of certain phrases in listening. Improve the students’ listening ability. (难点)

3. Affection and attitudes: We should behave correctly in museum.

Teaching aids:

Tape recorder, OHP, pictures, handouts

Teaching Steps

Step 1Warming-up

Task: introduce the topic of this unit to the students. .

Directions:

1.      Ask some students whether they have been to any museum before.

Have you been to any museum before?

Where is.....?

What have you seen in the……?

Do you like it?

 

2.      Ask do you see any sign on the wall ?

What is shown on the sign?

What is written on the sign?

Use computer to show some signs in the museum.

Show them a sign and use the expression “No+n/Ving”, then show some more signs and ask the students to express the meaning by using “No+n/Ving”.

 

Step 2Listening and vocabulary

1 .activity 1 on page 34

Task: to understand the meaning of the words and phrases in the box.

Directions: listen and underline the correct word in each sentence, and improve the students’ listening ability.

Step one: Read through the words in the box and have the Ss. Repeat them after you chorally and individually.

Step two: play the tape.

Step three: play the tape again one sentence by one sentence and check their answers.

Step four: explain briefly the meaning of the words and phrases in the box.

Step five: ask the Ss. to read through all the sentences in the activity.

2. Activity 3.on page 34.  .

Task: Listen and read:

 Directions:

Step one: Play the tape and ask the Ss. to listen and read the conversation.

Step two: Play the tape again and pause after each sentence, asking the Ss. to repeat chorally and individually. Put emphasis on new phrases and ask the Ss. to repeat these phrases.

Step three: ask 5 Ss. to play the five roles in the dialogue and read the text.

Step four: explain those new phrases. Tick out important structures and expressions for them to memorize.

Step five: They should repeat it several times, changing the roles each time.

3.     Make notes about what people cannot do in the museum and choose the best answer.

 Step one: ask the Ss. to cover the book and write down what people cannot do in the museum according to their memories.

Step two: open the book and check the answers.

Step three: choose the best answers.

Step four: check answers.

 4. Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words and phrases in the box.

  Directions:

Step one: Explain by saying “This activity is designed to check if you have understood the meaning of the new words and phrases in the text.

   Step two : Ask the Ss. to choose the words and phrases in the box to complete the sentences

   Step three: ask one student to give his answer to one sentence and then check answers with the whole class.

   Step four: explain why those words and phrases are used in specific sentences. 1. Ask the students to say something about the public holidays in China and America. the date, origin, customs, activities, etc.

5. Learn Everyday English

Step 3Explain the important and difficult points

1. No shouting, please! 请勿喧哗!

    Don’t cross that rope! 不要越过那条绳子!

   No photos. 请勿拍照。

课文中的这些语句表达的都是禁止做某事的意思。要表达这一意思可以采用以下

几种结构:

1No + doing

这是一种比较常用的表达方式。例如:

No joking! 不要开玩笑!

2). No + 名词这种结构也可以表达“禁止做某事”的意思。例如:

    No entry. 请勿入内。

3). 祈使句

祈使句同样可以用来表示“禁止”。例如:

   Dont make any noise. 不要吵闹。

  Keep off the grass. 请勿践踏草坪

2. It’s against the rules!

against the rules违反规定,违反规则

It’s against he rule to pick up the ball.

      捡球是犯规的。
